CMC Successfully Reaches Serbajadi Subdistrict to Deliver Emergency Aid to Five Isolated Villages
Aceh Timur, December 12, 2025 — Cendikia Muda Cemerlang (CMC Indonesia) has successfully reached the disaster-affected area of Serbajadi Subdistrict in Aceh Timur to deliver emergency assistance to five villages that have been isolated for several days due to severe road damage and widespread impacts of the disaster.

CMC Indonesia’s emergency response team became one of the first humanitarian groups to access the area. Aid distribution was carried out at several critical points, including:
1. Lokop Village, which served as the main distribution hub.
2. Leles Village, which remains unreachable by vehicle. Residents of Leles carried the aid manually from Lokop after waiting for supplies.
3. Umah Taring Village, where all residents have evacuated to a school building in Loot Village after their entire village was destroyed.
4. Jering Village, where residents are currently sheltering in the mosque, the village head office, and the traditional house in Loot Village. The entire settlement of Jering has reportedly been lost.
5. Loot Village, which has become the primary host location for displaced residents from both destroyed villages.

The CMC Indonesia field response coordinator reported that the situation remains deeply concerning. “The most urgent needs right now include food supplies, blankets, children’s essentials, and basic health services. We are highly concerned about the health risks faced by children due to inadequate facilities and poor sanitation,” he said.
The CMC team endured a long and challenging journey through damaged terrain that is accessible only by limited transportation. Despite the obstacles, the team succeeded in ensuring that emergency relief reached the affected communities.
CMC Indonesia calls on government institutions, humanitarian organizations, and the wider public to strengthen and accelerate support for the people of Serbajadi, many of whom have lost their homes and access to basic necessities
